Embarrassing: Influencer Fails That Are Truly Embarrassing
Influencers and their advertising placements sometimes couldn't be more embarrassing, either because they're tone-deaf or completely out of context!
Every day, influencers post a multitude of images and call for interaction and all sorts of things. There are countless advertising cooperations along the way. But some of them are to die for and look like they are staged in a very exaggerated way – sometimes even embarrassing - but most fans don't fall for bad advertising! Not all influencers are the same though!
Let's get to the first fails on Instagram posts:
Would the Cat Be Ashamed?
Influencer Kisu probably also thought, "Oh, I don't feel like posing anymore. I'm being authentic by just not showing the product. Well, we find that more irritating than authentic... The ultimate failure. Embarrassing! While they obviously thought of all the cat lovers around the world, the Nintendo brand is certainly disappointed with this post.

How Embarrassing!
Former Germany's Next Topmodel participant Neele probably wanted to do the right thing by applying the motto "the more, the better". With this one image she promotes several products, for example a protein bar, sportswear, chips and, strangely enough, the giant teddy bear. The best thing is that the setting seems more than inappropriate. Because, let's face it, there's nothing more awkward than taking a giant teddy bear in your car and, to top it off, putting it next to you in the trunk.

Next Level Fail
The fail is in the details here. Influencer nallilore is advertising an Oral-B toothbrush on her channel. But she clearly forgot that a toothbrush has no business being near a swimming pool. Whether it's an electric brush or not, it seems a bit unrealistic, or who brushes their teeth in a pool?

Washing Your Hair Without Water?
Being greeted with the comment "Ouch 🙄" already speaks volumes and hints that the next post will definitely be embarrassing. YouTuber Maren Wolf has a cooperation with Nivea and instead of celebrating spring, she should instead remember to wash her hair with water rather than hoping for rain outside. It's a little embarrassing, isn't it?

The next fail goes to a man, Instagrammer Lorenzo, who is an Italian model. In fact, with his provocative pose in the bathtub, this gentleman probably wanted to promote a relaxing bath, but it's embarrassing when the tub is completely empty. We are a little ashamed, no?

The next fail post is from Instagrammer Farina from Cologne. She loves to travel and didn't want to forget about chocolate, but she didn't think that the chocolate she takes with her on her trip to Dubai might melt. Especially considering that she placed the delicious chocolate in the sun on her expensive handbag. Just why?

Very Authentic
This advertising post is definitely beautiful and creative. However, one wonders how well a vacuum cleaner can work outdoors? Just embarrassing when you don't think about these "little things" before staging your advertising product.

This influencer gives us another embarrassing staging for an Oral-B product. While a toothbrush is not easy to stage, we still wonder how someone came up with the idea to stage the product in this way on the couch.

Lenasaibel added a layer by cleverly posing with string lights - but it doesn't really look comfortable and relaxed, rather very... well, staged? Especially since the lighting is really overdone. Croatian influencer Hana Hadžiavdagić Tabaković, host and journalist, is very much involved in the advertising game. The question of how smart it is to use and promote a face powder in the pool water, without any mirrors remains unanswered... But the "caviar-based skin luxury", as she calls it, must be well worth it...
Anyway, the Weather Doesn't Bother the Successful Croatian at All
Yes, this is the same lady as in the previous ad. Here, the journalist shows that even snow and cold weather do not give her any reason to give up advertising. We always bring cottage cheese to the slope, don't you?
A Perfectly Normal Bath
How do you do it? You don't bathe with a towel on your head and sunglasses on your face? And not quite without soap and foam, but with rosemary and orange slices. Well, now you know why your skin isn't as beautifully smooth and flawless as that of our favorite influencers. (End of irony)

Even Fuller Lips
The Kardashian/Jenner family is not exactly known for its naturalness. All of the sisters have extremely changed their appearance over the years, and it's highly unlikely that it's all due to age and makeup artistry. However, Kendall Jenner shows in a story about a photo shoot that sometimes, makeup can additionally be deceiving. Her usually full lips look even bigger and more defined. This is mostly due to the fact that she overdrew her lips, and potentially added a filter on top.

But wait, when you look at her reflection in the water, something is missing ... It seems that Vanessa Mariposa, the star of the German dating show "Are You The One", has resorted to retouching her photo. Didn't she notice the reflection herself? It doesn't look like she's smiling there. The reality TV starlet absolutely did not need it, but maybe the perspective plays tricks on us.
Kim Kardashian's Fail on the Carpet
In fact, this was supposed to be one of the first couple photos of Kim Kardashian and her new boyfriend, Pete Davidson. Indeed, the reality star has been posting some pretty explicit pics on social media - but with one striking difference. One fan site noticed that Kim had played around with the background a bit. Indeed, while on Instagram the model banters with her sweetheart on a pattern-less carpet, on Twitter the exact same photo can be seen, in which the carpet features a very garish pattern. Ah Kim, you missed something there!

At this year's Met Gala in New York, Kim Kardashian once again caught everyone's attention. At the side of her beau Pete Davidson, she shone in a dress that looks familiar to us ... that's right, Marilyn Monroe wore the crystal-studded dress back in 1962 on the occasion of John F. Kennedy's 45th birthday! Monroe supposedly paid $1440 for the stunning dress, the equivalent of $13,000 today. In 2016, it was sold for $4.6 million - how Kim Kardashian got her hands on the gem is unclear. The reality star is said to have lost around seven kilos in order to fit into the dress, which is studded with 2500 crystals.

While Marilyn Monroe sung “Happy birthday, Mr. President“ in the dazzling dress, Kim Kardashian posed in it on the Met Gala red carpet. Apparently, she only wore it for a few minutes, though! After the red carpet, she exchanged the original gem for a replica, since she didn't want to “sit in it or eat in it or have any risk of any damage to it“. Furthermore, her famous behind supposedly got in the way of the glamorous look – she was unable to zip the dress up! She covered the potential wardrobe malfunction by wearing a sheer white fur shawl, completing the iconic look.
Lili Reinhart Speaks Out Against Kim Kardashian's Diet Comments
Many Instagram users were upset by Kim Kardashian's interview with Vogue on the Met Gala's red carpet, because she specifically emphasizes that she lost 16 pounds (7 kilos) in the short period of three weeks by cutting out carbs to fit into Marilyn Monroe's beautiful dress. In a society that still portrays weight loss as a desirable goal and has normalized dangerous diets to a certain degree, Kardashian's comments left a nasty taste in many a celebrity's mouth.
While not directly addressing Kardashian, Riverdale star Lili Reinhart didn't have to mention her name for it to be obvious who her Instagram rant was meant for. “The ignorance is other-worldly and disgusting. Please stop supporting these stupid, harmful celebrities whose entire image revolves around their bodies," she appeals to her followers.
Knowing that the Kardashians have many young fans, she sees Kim Kardashian's weight loss comment as especially dangerous, since the whole Kardashian family functions as a role model for many teens. Even for those who are not struggling with an eating disorder, and for whom such comments are especially harmful, drawing attention to a risky diet in order to achieve something seemingly positive (i.e. appearing on the red carpet), can be detrimental to (young) women's body image.
Khloé Kardashian accidentally admits to Photoshop
This in itself is not a headline that surprises us. However, some observant Kardashian fans are completely freaked out because their theory has been confirmed that Kim Kardashian photoshopped Khloé's daughter True into pictures from her Disneyland trip with baby daughter Chicago. Just recently, Khloé shared a picture on her Instagram story that also shows True - Khloé's comment, "This is True's first time at Disneyland!" Many had speculated that True was photoshopped into the photos for a long time, as True looks a bit "out of place" in the pictures - now we know why!

Instagram user ky.storm.lovely already posted her theory about Kim Kardashian's Photoshop fail last year in December - True's smile in the Disneyland post looked very familiar to her. If you're going to use Photoshop, please don't get caught, people!
