15 Cases Of Deceptive Packaging That'll Drive You Mad
Sometimes you buy something and don't realize until afterwards that you have been mislead. You'll only notice the deceptive packaging once you've opened it
Every once in a while, you come across packaging that leads you to believe you're getting more than usual for the same prize. Then you open the product and find out that you've been mislead because the contents are actually much different than you thought. Especially with these deceptive packagings, you don't see it until you open the pack. Unfortunately, in most cases, you don't detect it after you bought the product:
#1 Sausages
Unopened, it looks like the sausages are as big as the pack. But in fact, they are as small as the window to fool people!

#2 Shampoo
The pack on the left says XL, which means extra large. But the bottle is the same size as the one on the right, which doesn't have the XL label. Does this mean that the bottle on the left, holds much less than the volume of the container indicates? No wonder the Reddit user is annoyed!
#3 Buns
Appearances are often deceiving when it comes to snacks too. Here, for example, it looks like there's an insane amount of food inside, so it's already spilling over the sides. But in fact, the filling is only around the edges.

#4 Wraps
If you look at the wrap in the packaging, you might think that there is a big sandwich inside. But actually it is only two very small wraps...

#5 Cookies
There actually would have been room for 10 cookies in this package. But the two outer compartments have been raised so there is only one in each. So it looks like there are 10 cookies, when in fact there are only 8!

#6 Waffles
Originally, the waffles in this were placed next to each other. The manufacturer has now stacked them on top of each other, as seen above. This makes the package look 40% larger and gives the impression that there is now more content. However, the number of wafers does not change.

#7 Chocolate Bar
The top chocolate bar looks as big as two smaller bars. But if you put them next to each other, you see that two small bars together are longer than one large bar. So instead of advertising the size of two bars at the top, it should say 1.5 instead.

#8 Ice Cream
Here, the packages are exactly the same size. However, the package on the right contains 40 ml less, while costing 10 cents more! Here, you have to look at the details.

#9 Chips Cans
Here, the price of the product has remained the same, but the packaging contains less content. The chips have become smaller and are no longer stacked directly in the box, but lined up next to each other in a plastic tray. The whole thing is then wrapped in aluminum foil again. This means: less content for the same price!

#10 Air Instead of Chips
User BobbySmif makes the point on Twitter that when you buy chips, you buy more air than chips. Quite cunning!
#11 Jam? Gone!
User green_buddha_cacti rightly takes exception to the fact that there are only traces of jam instead of the big puddle we're looking forward to.
#12 The Pen Disaster
"Are they trying to trick me?" Reddit user Angel_Muffin probably thought. There's a huge whole in the middle and pens are missing, aren't there? What purpose does a big box like this serve?
#13 Half-Filled
It's just plain mean when you're promised something that isn't delivered in the end. The same goes for pizza, which only has salami where the "window" is.

#14 Green-Washing the Pen
"This pen was developed with the aim of minimizing the use of plastic". No wonder users, including Martwin31, are outraged. This is blatant greenwashing!
#15 The Christmas Boot
Who doesn't love it? For many, receiving a Christmas boot full of Christmas presents is part of the package. It's even more disappointing when you receive a fake one like Reddit user PigeonsOnYourBalcony!
